As I was flicking through all the New York Fashion Week 2016 shows and collections (yes, I looked through ALL of them), there was one clear trend that I actually considered to be over, but to my surprise it’s still going strong. Yes, I’m talking about ruffles! Not only ruffles, but big layers as well as bubble-like volumes and shapes. And also miles of stripes. I love that quirky yet romantic trend and I was thrilled to see that this fashion trend will be running until next summer.
I have handpicked some great examples from known designers as well as some less-known (for me at least). But the pieces are equally beautiful and worth pointing out. I especially loved Delpozo, Hellessy, Milly, Co and Tibi's Spring/Summer 2017 collections. Here is a selection of New York Fashion Week designers as well as a couple of London Fashion Week ones: Herve Leger, Kate Spade, Rhié, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Delpozo, Josie Natori, Warm, Kendall+Kylie, Yeezy, Adam Lippes, Alice+Oliva, Brandon Maxwell, Pringle of Scotland, Karen Walker and many others. Happy Ruffling!
