My travel plan for Thailand & Malaysia!

February 19, 2017

After booking your flights, the next important question to find the answer for is ‘where to stay in Thailand as well as in Malaysia'? Usually everyone who travels to Thailand flies to the capital - to Bangkok. This vibrant city with over 8 million inhabitants is home to some amazing hotels. For our first two nights in Bangkok, we opted for the five star Amari Watergate Bangkok, which belongs to the same ONYX Hospitality Group as the luxurious Oriental Residence Bangkok, where we stayed last year. And we loved it!

Since you’ll be completely knackered after the long flight, I find it important to choose a hotel, where you can get rid of your jet lag in the best possible way. And the five star Amari Watergate Bangkok is also conveniently located close to all of Bangkok’s main shopping areas and it has beautiful rooms and great facilites. The perfect place to start your Thailand holiday. When you book your room at Amari Watergate, make sure to choose an Executive Room. Why? Because the top four Floors are the Executive Floors along with a separate reception and you will also have access to the Executive Lounge, that is located on the 32nd Floor and that is also where your complimentary breakfast buffet as well as a selection of juices, coffees, teas and early evening cocktails will be served each day. Of course the hotel also has a beautiful pool area, also a spa, salon and a gym. This hotel in Bangkok really ticks all the boxes! Crown Lanta Resort & Spa

From Bangkok, we will fly to Krabi, which we already discovered last year. See my blog posts about Krabi HERE. But this time we will be heading to Koh Lanta, which they call the best kept secret of Thailand. The island is perfect for couples and I think the resort we’re staying at must be the most romantic hotel in Koh Lanta. Nested on an impressive elevated private peninsula, Crown Lanta Resort & Spa has two splendid private beaches and a selection of their rooms have direct pool access. One of things that I’m looking forward to experiencing is their beachfront bar with a cool treehouse seating. Perfect for those romantic sunset dinners or drinks. Mali Resort in Koh Lipe

From Koh Lanta we decided to head towards the South and also visit Malaysia, since it's so close. But since the ferry from Koh Lanta to Langkawi island takes way too long, we will make a pit stop at a stunning small island called Koh Lipe, which I really wanted to see anyway. This island is famous for it’s white sands and crystal clear waters, making it perfect for diving and snorkelling. As for our accommodation, we will be staying at the gorgeous Mali Resort on Pattaya Beach and there is no doubt that this is the best hotel you can find in Koh Lipe. Not only does Mali Resort look amazing, they have built it using sustainable materials to create an aesthetic that is at once unique yet natural, high-end yet grounded to the authentic tone of island life. Their ethic is to deliver unparalleled service and comfort in an atmosphere that is as elegant as it is environmentally aware and socially minded. Have a look at the resort’s website here: www.maliresorts.com.

Casa del Mar, Langkawi

From Koh Lipe, we will be heading to Langkawi, which belongs to Malaysia. I can’t be more excited for this one, since it’s our first time ever in this beautiful country. Just 40 km from Koh Lipe and some 30km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia, this tropical paradise island is surrounded by white beaches, rainforests, waterfalls, bizarre rock formations and jungles with a wide variety of wildlife. As for our stay in Langkawi, we chose the Casa del Mar resort, that is a Mediterranean-style hotel perfect for private and romantic retreat. Not only does it look so inviting (and I love the Spanish touch of the place), Casa del Mar also won the TripAdvisors Travellers’ Choice Awards 2017! The Stripes, Kuala Lumpur

After relaxing on the paradise islands of the Andaman Sea, from Langkawi we will fly to the modern capital of Malaysia which has an estimated population of 1.7 million people. And just 1,5km from the famous 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towersis is the hotel we will be staying in Kuala Lumpur. The brand new Stripes Hotel that opened its doors on the 12th February is a member of Autograph Collection Hotels, an evolving ensemble of strikingly independent hotels and it’s also a part of the YTL Luxury Hotel group. All of the 184 guest rooms and suites are a unique blend of contemporary design and urban chic, reflecting the history and character of the neighbourhood. And one of their beautiful facilities which I'm really looking forward to seeing is of course a stunning rooftop pool. Perfect for enjoying the scenic views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyscrapers. If you’re heading to Kuala Lumpur, don’t miss a chance to stay at this new modern luxury hotel: www.stripeskl.com.

Shama in Bangkok

And after Kuala Lumpur’s city break our last stop will be in Bangkok, since our flight back home to Malaga leaves from there. And our last nights will be spend in Shama Sukhumvit Serviced Apartments that are located in a prestigious residential area amongst fashionable restaurants, stylish shopping, and central business district with nearby BTS Skytrain access. Tropical gardens awash with flora and fauna combined with contemporary furnishings, extensive clubhouse complete with rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre, kids area, yoga and meditation rooms is a true retreat away from the bustle of this hectic city. The best way to unwind before flying back home! Read more about Shama apartments here: www.shama.com.
