Mallorca Blog #3: OD Port Portals Hotel
After discovering the North and East side of Mallorca, we headed down towards Palma and checked in the chic OD Port Portals Hotel Mallorca just 300 metres from the posh Puerto Portals yacht harbour. This design hotel with 76 rooms that opened just 2 years ago, offers a perfectly balanced mix of luxury design elements with some retro details, so the whole atmosphere is very fresh and contemporary, but at the same time it oozes coziness and it’s very easy to feel like home here.
The friendly and professional reception team checked us in quickly and conveniently before 2pm and we got a lovely Deluxe Room on the third floor with a balcony that offered views to the lavish pool area as well as to the sea and surroundings. Not only did the room have sea views, so did the shower! And of course the room came with comfy robes and slippers..
The breakfast is served near the pool in a lovely restaurant area and it’s not your average hotel breakfast. They offer breakfast a la carte! Choose from Poached Eggs to Omelette or treat yourself to some pancakes and sweets from the buffet area. And you know the best part? They serve breakfast until 12pm! I don’t recall many hotels that let me sleep in that long. OD Port Portals features other cool services, like late check-out upon request, WiFi, a free Smart Cabrio car for each of its 10 Junior Suites and a private driver service in a Porsche Cayenne (on request)! It doesn’t get much better than this!
Chic hotel with a cool positive vibe and excellent service
After the breakfast we relaxed by the glamorous pool side with a complimentary bottle of bubbly that the hotel had sent us! What a better way to spend a 28-degree day in October than in a white luxurious cabana bed with my boyfriend. Before heading for dinner in Palma (just 10 min drive) we decided to check out their famous rooftop Sky Bar with stunning views over the area. Even though the rooftop closes in the end of September, the hotel is open all year around and also has 2 sister hotels in Ibiza.
This is definitely a hotel for the young trendsetters and jet-setters travelling the world, whether for business or pleasure. And even though it’s located the most exclusive port of the island, close to all the attractions and amenities one wishes to have nearby, you still feel amazingly relaxed here.
