IKEA Vittsjo Hack: From Black to Gold

Even though IKEA is not my favourite brand for furniture, they do have some pieces that are great for transforming into something original and chic. For example the IKEA Vitssjo furniture series features a beautiful console and the perfect coffee table. But I didn’t particularly like the pieces in black or in white, so as I was surfing on Pinterest, I came across this great hack - to spray the furniture with a spray paint and make it golden! I bought couple of different gold sprays from the local Chinese shop and the best one of all of them was the the one on the photo but not the 'Shiny Gold' but the ‘Chrome Gold’.

Besides the console and the coffee table (that actually has two tables in one) I also bought some plant pots for the little palm trees that would go on the console after. After spraying the pots and the furniture in my garden, I let them dry for a couple of hours before bringing them in. And I must say I was so pleased with the result and for anyone searching for golden pieces of furniture for their home, I recommend this easy and cheap DIY hack that will leave your house looking like a million dollars.
