El Corte Ingles Puerto Banus: Extreme Blogging Day Vol.2: YSL & Guerlain

Our Extreme Blogging Day with the other bloggers from Marbella and Malaga continued at the El Corte Inglés in Puerto Banus - Costa Marbella Shopping Centre. Now we were treated to an hour with the representatives of Guerlain and YSL, which is a dream of any girl who loves cosmetics and beauty products.

Guerlain

It was really interesting to hear the story of Guerlain - a true tale of a real family business, because five generations of Guerlains have led the company over the years. The brand dates back to 1828, when it started life as a small perfume business in Paris under Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain. Guerlain was a master perfumer, creating fragrances for the rich and famous - Napoléon III and Queen Victoria to name but two. Pierre-François Pascal passed his skills on to his son Aimé, who in turn taught his nephew Jacques (the latter being responsible for Guerlain's signature Shalimar scent). Years later, Jacques handed down the family secrets to his grandson Jean-Paul, who then in 1994 sold the company to the multinational LMVH. In the 184 years since its inception, Guerlain has created more than 325 different fragrances and still holds its own in the luxury perfume market. But besides perfumes, Guerlain is also famous for other beauty products, especially for its Terracotta range. We got to try all the seven perfumes of the L'Art et la Matière collection, as well as the famous Eau de Cologne Impériale, that was made for the wife of Napoléon III. All of the perfumes really have a distinct smell and I especially loved Guerlain's new fragrance - Mon Guerlain!

YSL

Founded in 1961, YSL has been considered one of the world's most prominent fashion houses and Yves Saint Laurent Beauté is the makeup, fragrance and skincare of this Parisian couture brand, which every woman is familiar with. Who hasn’t tried their famous Touche Éclat? The lovely Maria from YSL at El Corte Inglés Costa Marbella showed us all her makeup tricks and the best products on one of the bloggers and we could really see the difference of how much light and radiation YSL makeup and skincare products give. No wonder why their skincare branch of the brand is today conquering the premium skincare territory with its Or Rouge collection that brings together the Glycobiology science and a precious ingredient containing a high concentration of glycans, the pistil of Saffron.

My favourite products were definitely the Touche Éclat Glow Shot Highlighter, that can be applied after the makeup or mix it into your foundation to get a radiant look on your skin and cheeks. Also the Touch Éclat Blur Primer was a great discovery. It’s basically an illuminating primer that blurs imperfections and boosts the radiance of foundation. After applying you will see how the pores seem to be minimized, skin texture feels smoother, and skin tone is more even. It’s enriched with four nourishing oils—corn oil, apricot kernel oil, passiflora oil, and rice bran oil—to leave skin feeling incredibly soft without a greasy residue. That one is also one of the best selling new products now and I’m not surprised at all, it was amazing! Both brands also offer the makeup service, so if you have an event to attend, book your appointment at Guerlain or at YSL at El Corte Inglés today!
