Presentation of Gabrielle Perfume by Chanel in El Corte Ingles Marbella

Today I was lucky enough to attend the a presentation of the new Perfume of Chanel, Gabrielle, in the VIP Suite of El Corte Ingles in Puerto Banus, Marbella. It is Chanel’s first major fragrance since Chance in 2002, so I was really honoured to discover the story behind it. The name of the perfume tells a story. The story of Gabrielle Chanel. Before she was the designer Coco Chanel, she was actually called Gabrielle. A rebel at heart, passionate and self-ruling, she freed herself to become the woman she wanted to be. A woman as radiant as the fragrance she inspired. Olivier Polge, Chanel’s in-house perfumer, who created Gabrielle, has described the new scent as an “abstract floral,” and it really is both clean, modern and floral yet utterly recognisable as a perfume by Chanel.

We were presented with the nectars of all the four notes of the perfume in the most elegant way of course - in a lovely branded Chanel box. The key notes are: Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Ylang-Ylang and Grasse Tuberose. The perfume is like an imaginary flower—radiant and sparkling, purely feminine Chanel blossom based on a bouquet of four white flowers: rich, enveloping heart of exotic jasmine shimmers with the fruity green notes of ylang-ylang, while fresh and sparkling orange blossom shines through, offering a glimpse of grasse tuberose captured at its finest. Four points of light that recall the four corners of the bottle. And the design is as striking as the perfume. The perfume appears to be suspended weightlessly within the striking, square bottle crafted of ultra-thin glass, as the four transparent sides fade into the background to let the light shine through. The label and the stopper have the same shape and indefinable lamé colour, a delicate balance between gold and silver, and the interior is warmed with an even more resplendent gold. Nestled in an imprint of its silhouette, the bottle is carefully protected by a precious interior sleeve. El Corte Ingles Costa Marbella in Puerto Banus has a special offer for Gabrielle Perfume, so make sure to visit it, it’s almost time for Christmas shopping and what a better present to give than a lovely scent by Chanel!
