My New Vegan, Cruelty & Alcohol Free Skincare Routine under €35!

I recently ordered new beauty products from a skincare brand called Ordinary, since I want to use more natural products on my skin (as it is our largest organ and all the chemicals we use on our skin will absorb into our body). And now it’s not only about me - I also have to think of the wellbeing of my little baby! I like that the Ordinary skincare products are free from parabens, sulphates and mineral oils. All formulas are vegan and cruelty-free. It really ticks all the boxes for me! And what I love about this company is that you can email them your photo and description of your skin type and they will recommend which products to use and there is a product for every skin concern! I have really dry skin, so I was recommended to use 4 products daily - 3 in the morning, 3 in the evening. And here they are:

AM

A multi-depth hydration support serum with ultra-pure, vegan hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B5. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) can attract up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Hyaluronic Acid is found in the skin naturally but its natural function within the skin is not hydration. Many products have used HA to claim hydration benefits, but HA is too large of a molecule to penetrate the skin and instead sits on the surface and can draw moisture out of the skin making the surface feel soft and hydrated temporarily, while making you feel like you need more HA after the product is rinsed. This formula uses three forms of HA with varying molecular weights, as well as an HA crosspolymer, to offer multi-depth hydration and visible plumping without drawing water out of the skin solely to improve temporary surface hydration.

A multi-technology peptide serum which works hard to repair and protect every cell as well as moisture magnet hyaluronic acid, it acts like shield against ageing.

A cream formula that offers non-greasy surface hydration that acts as a direct topical supplement of impaired NMF components; NMF are elements that keep the outer layer of the skin protected and well-hydrated.

I was also recommended to use the Ordinary Mineral UV Filters SPF 15 or 30 with Antioxidants after the cream, but because it’s winter and I’m not that much outdoors, I skipped that one. Plus I love the Natural Tone Organic Suncare products SPFs, so whenever I’m in the sun I use them!

PM

A multi-depth hydration support serum with ultra-pure, vegan hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B5.

A multi-technology peptide serum that targets various visible signs of ageing at once.

A lightweight sugarcane and beet derived solution to support healthy hydration; Squalane is non-comedogenic and is suitable for use on all skin types. Technically squalane is an oil — but this stuff doesn’t feel greasy upon application. It’s also odorless, antibacterial, doesn’t clog pores, and can be used on sensitive skin. What’s more, this version sails through the vegan litmus test: Though squalane can be derived from animals, this plant-sourced version carries Ecocert approval, and is USDA-certified as a biobased product.

Note: The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil or The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Argan Oil can be used instead of 100% Plant-Derived Squalane in the PM.

And now comes the best part - when you add up the prices of them all the total cost of all the products is below €35!

I’ll keep you posted of how my skin improves or changes after a month of using the products, but after a week I already feel as if it’s more moisturised and plump!

Hyaluronic acid 2% + B5 €6.80

The Ordinary “Buffet” €14.80

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors+ HA €5.80

The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane €7.20

TOTAL: €34.6
