So I tried windsurf for the very first time in Tarifa last weekend as I’ve always wanted to try surfing, but they advised that it’s best to try windsurf first. And oh boy, they were right. If you’ve never tried it, I definitely recommend to take a private lesson at first to get the basics right. We booked our class at Surf Center Tarifa, just in front of Arte Vida Hotel & Restaurant. P.S. do stay for lunch there after as the food is amazing!
Me and my girlfriend took a semiprivate one and it was great, our teacher Sergio, who’s a Tarifa native, was patient and professional and after a some theory and practising on the simulator, we headed to the ocean. Slowly but steadily, I learned to harness the wind's energy, guiding the sail and maneuvering the board. Amidst a few wobbles and waves of laughter, I felt an incredible sense of accomplishment as I managed to catch my first wind and glide across the water's surface. Also the wind wasn’t as strong to hinder us, so í highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience and workout! And just like that, Tarifa became not just a destination, but a chapter in my story of embracing the unknown and finding the courage to ride the winds of change.
